The company was established under the direction and visionary leadership of Dr. Md Momtazur Rahman, a respected academic and administrator with extensive experience in education, publishing, and business. Farhana Ali, an emerging entrepreneur and committed business partner, serves as the Commissioner of the company, providing oversight and strategic guidance. Together, they aim to position BUMI EASTERN INTERNATIONAL as a recognized name in Indonesia’s business landscape.

Leadership Profiles

Dr. Md Momtazur Rahman

President Director

Dr. Md Momtazur Rahman is a distinguished academic, administrator, and entrepreneur who brings over 17 years of experience in higher education and public engagement. Prior to founding BUMI EASTERN INTERNATIONAL (BEI), he served as Professor of English and Registrar at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was also the Chairman of the Department of English and Modern Languages.

Dr. Rahman holds a PhD in English Language Studies from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a Master of Arts in English Language from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Social Science (Honors) from the University of Dhaka.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Rahman has been involved in several entrepreneurial initiatives in Bangladesh. His interdisciplinary knowledge and international exposure have enabled him to conceptualize and lead innovative business strategies. A prolific writer and editor, he is committed to building a socially responsible company that contributes to both education and economic progress in Indonesia.

Having lived in Malaysia for several years, Dr. Rahman is proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, which allows him to connect with local stakeholders and operate effectively within the Indonesian business environment.

Farhana Ali

Commissioner

Farhana Ali serves as the Commissioner of BUMI EASTERN INTERNATIONAL (BEI). With a growing interest in entrepreneurship and a practical understanding of business operations, she plays a crucial role in the company’s governance and strategic development. As the wife and business partner of Dr. Rahman, she is a dedicated contributor to the firm’s mission, bringing emotional intelligence, motivational support, and operational oversight to the team.

Her commitment to integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement adds significant value to the company’s leadership structure. She works closely with the Director to ensure that the company’s vision is realized with care, consistency, and creativity.
